Learning Globally, Leading Locally: Conversations With Ford Global Fellows

Creating meaningful change requires supporting emerging leaders from the communities most affected by today’s challenges—and creating spaces where they can collaborate on bold new solutions that harness their diverse expertise and perspectives. Every day, the 127 fellows in our Ford Global Fellowship community demonstrate the power of this interconnected approach, sharing strategies and insights across disciplines while building transformative global collaborations. Through these relationships, with imagination and persistence, they are generating sustainable ideas that disrupt inequality across contexts and continents and honor the dignity of all people.
The Ford Foundation’s $50 million, 10-year investment in the fellowship represents our commitment to convening and supporting the next generation of leaders who are advancing innovative solutions to create a more just world. As part of our flagship international fellowship, these emerging leaders sustain and learn from each other so they can work better, smarter, and more impactfully in the long haul.
To spotlight these fellows’ vital work and build new connections between them, Ford Global Fellows launched the “Learning Globally, Leading Locally: Conversations With Ford Global Fellows” series—a collection of dialogues between these changemakers. In these intimate discussions, moderated by fellowship director Adria Goodson, fellows explore their ideas, innovations, and actions to create a more just world. As they do, they share what they have learned as individuals by being in relationships across different geographies. This series offers a window into these visionaries’ strategies for change, their leadership philosophies, and their experiences navigating the challenges in our complex yet hopeful global moment. Join the conversation and meet these leaders driving the positive change we all need.
