Timed to the 50th anniversary of the Kerner Commission Report, the Ford Foundation in collaboration with Quadrant Strategies conducted a study between February 17th – 22nd, 2018, focused on the perceptions about the coverage of race in the media. The poll asked participants to reflect on the current state of the media today and what we may or may not have learned from the Kerner report 50 years ago, which documented the failings of the media to address the civil unrest in 1967 in Detroit, Newark, and elsewhere.
