The Ford Foundation has awarded a $250,000 grant to the University of Vermont’s Leahy Institute for Rural Partnerships. This funding aims to bolster Vermont’s economic resilience by expanding the Statewide Summer Internship Program, which places students in rural communities to support local organizations.
Additionally, the grant strengthens the Data Services Collaboration, providing small towns with critical, accessible data for housing, infrastructure, and disaster recovery. By investing in both student leadership and technical resources, the partnership seeks to bridge the rural opportunity gap and empower Vermont communities with the tools necessary for sustainable, long-term growth.
