“A world without sexual and gender-based violence is one of safe, liberated communities that operate together with dignity, respect, empathy, and care.”

Dani Ayers is an organizational development and strategy executive and the CEO of me too. International, a nonprofit that works to end sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) through a Black feminist lens. The organization provides no-cost healing resources to survivors, convenes social justice leaders and survivors to build solutions, and pushes for widespread culture and narrative change about how SGBV is framed and discussed.

As the first CEO of me too. International, the organization undergirding the work of Tarana Burke’s visionary ‘me too.’ movement, Dani built its foundational infrastructure and has led operations for seven years. She is also working to develop a ‘me too.’ global network alongside a team of SGBV practitioners. She has grounded her career in considering how to better serve the people who work to solve systemic challenges, through a careful balance of well-being and rigor, in service to strengthening organizations doing crucial work serving under-resourced communities. She was previously the managing director of Art Sanctuary, an arts for social justice organization in North Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; director of organizational development at Boys and Girls Clubs of America; and enterprise executive vice president with Black Women’s Health Imperative. She received a bachelor’s degree in public relations and a master’s degree in African American studies from Temple University.

Dani believes that strong, resilient infrastructure is the backbone of transformational change. Her commitment to racial and gender justice is rooted in creating systems that honor and empower the people and communities they serve to build a safer, freer, world for everyone.
