Max Steele is a grants manager on the Civic Engagement and Government team, where he provides administrative support in the grantmaking process and research and tracking operations to the program team. He joined the foundation in 2018 as a program assistant with the Technology and Society program, during which he worked with program staff, grantees, and consultants to advance their missions and strategies.

Prior to joining Ford, Max worked at Fractured Atlas, a technology nonprofit, providing critical resources to artists and arts organizations through its Arts Insurance Program, and at the New York Community Trust’s Promising Futures program, with a focus on youth and workforce development, education, and human rights.

Max is a graduate of Sarah Lawrence College and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in psychoanalysis at the New York Graduate School of Psychoanalysis.
