Kenneth T. Monteiro is vice president, secretary, and general counsel of the foundation. He is responsible for managing the overall legal affairs of the foundation relating to its governance, grant making, global operations, and investments.
Ken joined the foundation in 1995 as a resident counsel and served as assistant secretary and deputy general counsel before being named vice president in 2014. Earlier, Ken was an associate at Debevoise & Plimpton, where he specialized in real estate law.
Ken serves on the board of Philanthropy New York and on the government relations committee of the Nonprofit Coordinating Committee of New York. He has also served on the boards of the Bronx Academy of Arts and Dance, the New York City Gay and Lesbian Anti-Violence Project, the Innovation Center for Community and Youth Development, and the Lesbian and Gay Law Association Foundation of Greater New York.
Ken earned his juris doctor degree from Boston University School of Law and his bachelor’s degree in international relations and political science from Boston University.
