Shingai Mutize is a program manager in the foundation’s office for Southern Africa. She has broad responsibilities which include direct oversight of grant-making workflow and providing strategic support to regional grantee partners on compliance and legal requirements. She supports partners in assessing their financial health and organizational capacity to manage the foundation grant funds.
Prior to joining the foundation, she supported an Australian government’s initiative that advanced African governments and institutions toward sustainable social and economic development in mineral resource governance.
Shingai holds a bachelor’s degree in commerce, majoring in accounting from the University of Fort Hare, a post-graduate management diploma in public sector monitoring and evaluation from the University of the Witwatersrand, and is currently working on attaining her master's in governance (development and economics) there.
