She coordinates grantmaking, multi-stakeholder engagements, capacity-strengthening initiatives for grantees, and internal communications for the office. She is also a member of the East Africa office’s Good Neighbors Committee, which seeks to strengthen Ford Foundation’s ties to local organizations working on social justice issues. Peggy is also part of the East Africa Young Feminist Fund initiative, which is a collaborative that seeks to build long-term infrastructures that boldly resource, support, and amplify young feminists and adolescent girls.

Peggy has spent over five years working in the non-profit sector, championing human rights, penal reforms, and gender equality through communications and advocacy. Before joining Ford, she was the Communications Lead at Akili Dada, a leadership incubator for young women and girls from underserved and low-income backgrounds. Before this, Peggy worked at Justice Defenders, an organization that promotes access to justice by equipping prisoners and prison officers to facilitate legal processes.

Peggy holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communications from Daystar University and a Diploma in Project Management from the Kenya Institute of Management.
