Kay Lee is a senior manager on the Strategy and Learning team where she supports the advancement of systems and processes to enable greater learning, reflection, and strategy development. She works closely with program and operational staff to support alignment in their work and to ensure learning is integrated into their efforts.
Previously, Kay was the project manager in the Office of the President, where she managed short- and long-term special projects and ongoing activities for Ford Foundation President Darren Walker. She joined Ford in 2011 as a project manager for the vice president of Economic Opportunity and Assets.
Before joining the foundation, Kay worked in Malaysia and the UK on refugee and asylum issues, including as a UNHCR caseworker in Kuala Lumpur, focusing on unaccompanied minors from Myanmar, and as a manager with a community-based organization serving refugees in London. She also worked at the Rockefeller Foundation in the Office of the Vice President. She holds a master of public administration degree with a focus on nonprofit management from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs and a BA from the University of California, San Diego.
