For fifty years, the Ford Foundation’s headquarters has been a gem of New York architecture and a beacon for the social justice community. In October 2016, we began a major renovation and restoration project that will reinvigorate our building’s mission—ensuring that it works for far more people, is open to the public, and serves as an uplifting and energizing space for change.
The site logistics plan below provides a look at construction activity ahead. Please note that there will be increased trucking activity during construction.

When we reopen in 2018, it will be as the Ford Foundation Center for Social Justice. The building will be a contemporary workspace that is collaborative, open, and green. It will feature a welcome center, an art gallery, and two full floors for events and programs—as well as space for like-minded organizations. We look forward to welcoming you then.
