The U.S.-Vietnam Dialogue Group on Agent Orange visited Vietnam as part of a bilateral effort to put new containment measures into place and address key priorities.
Since 2000, the Ford Foundation has funded work that addresses the impact of dioxin on post-war Vietnam. In 2006, we established a special initiative to foster and maintain a productive dialogue between the United States and Vietnam on the issue of Agent Orange sprayed during the war and the legacy of dioxin that still continues to impact lives. Donors, nongovernmental organizations and government agencies are pooling resources, knowledge and good will to find durable solutions, diversify funding for needed measures, and achieve scale in addressing dioxin-related health and environmental issues. As part of this effort, the foundation supports the work of the U.S.-Vietnam Dialogue Group on Agent Orange, which was launched in 2007.
