Susan D. Hairston is responsible for program operations, including grants management, information analysis, grant systems, and international operations. She also directs the foundation's employee volunteer program known as the Good Neighbor Committee.
Susan joined the foundation in 1997 and held several management positions before becoming a director. Her prior experience includes operations, finance, and accounting at a variety of nonprofit organizations.
An education advocate and active community volunteer, Susan has been honored with many community service awards and appointed to serve on several boards, among them the Summit Board of Education (New Jersey) and the Union County College Foundation.
Susan was an Ascent Fellow at the Tuck Graduate School of Management at Dartmouth and received her master of public administration from Seton Hall University and a bachelor’s in business administration from the University of Pittsburgh.
