Supporting Sexuality Research
Request for Proposals
The 2011 Request for Proposals (RFP) “Sexuality, Health and Rights Among Youth in the United States: Transforming Public Policy and Public Understanding Through Social Science Research” is closed. Applications received in the designated period are currently being considered.
The RFP was established to support and help prepare researchers to advance cutting-edge social science sexuality research that has the potential to engage community partners and shift the discourse on these critical issues for the 21st century.
As part of Ford’s Supporting Sexuality Research initiative, the goal of this request was to help social science researchers inform public policy and public understanding of sexuality related issues from a human rights and systemic perspective. This research was complemented by the work we do in our Youth Sexuality, Reproductive Health, and Rights initiative.
The foundation put a particular focus on proposals that had the potential to:
- Integrate social science research, graduate student training and strategic communications approaches
- Help deepen the public understanding of sexuality and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) issues
- Inform SRHR policies that impact adolescents and young adults
