ArtPlace

The Ford Foundation—in collaboration with nine leading national and regional foundations, eight federal agencies including the National Endowment for the Arts, and six of the nation's largest banks— launched ArtPlace. The new public-private grant program aims to accelerate creative placemaking across the United States

A current opportunity to connect with Ford Foundation resources is through the open call for letters of inquiry, managed by ArtPlace. Key dates include:

  • September 4, 2012: Letter of inquiry opens
  • November 1, 2012: Letter of inquiry closes
  • January 2, 2013: Finalists announced, request for full proposals
  • February 15, 2013: Full proposals due
  • June, 2013: Grants awards announced

Space for Change

We are currently funding a cohort of organizations from an RFP in spring 2010. Managed by LINC (Leveraging Investments in Creativity), the "Space for Change" grant program supports the planning and pre-development of dynamic new arts spaces. In particular, it helps nonprofit arts organizations work toward buying, building, renovating or becoming anchor tenants in vibrant and sustainable arts facilities that engage communities in new ways.
