2 December 2012Time Collaborative: Reimagining Education
On December 3, 2012, the Ford Foundation and the National Center on Time & Learning announced a groundbreaking collaborative effort to expand and reimagine the school day, and to help level the playing field for children in communities of concentrated poverty. Participating schools of the Time Collaborative are redesigning their school calendars in an effort to dramatically improve learning for tens of thousands of students.
The launch event, held at the Pew Charitable Trusts, in Washington, D.C., included a series of discussions with state and district education leaders about the rich possibilities of a longer, more varied school day.
