Ford Foundation Working with Visionaries on the Frontlines of Social Change Worldwide

Request for Proposals

The Ford Foundation—in partnership with the Urban Institute and the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities—is requesting proposals for the one-year planning and design phase of Work Support Strategies: Streamlining Access, Strengthening Families.

Grants will be given to select states to develop more effective, streamlined and integrated approaches to connecting low-income families with key work supports such as health coverage, nutrition benefits and child care subsidies.

The application process is managed by the Urban Institute. Eligible applicants are state agencies, including those in the District of Columbia, and key deadlines are:

  • Deadline for letters of intent: October 1, 2010
  • Deadline for receipt of proposals: November 1, 2010
  • Identification of finalists: end of November or early December 2010
  • Target start of grants: January 2011
