Summary Description
Responsible for assisting in the management of the Foundation’s Private Equity and hedge fund portfolio. Reports to the Director, Private Equity and works with the Private Equity Department to help monitor existing portfolio of venture capital, growth equity, buyout, and distressed managers and identify and evaluate new potential managers, including: meeting with existing and prospective fund managers, researching portfolio companies that are distributed to us, monitoring investments made by the funds, analyzing our total fund portfolio to see that it maximizes the Foundation’s investment returns, and staying abreast of capital markets conditions to proactively identify investment opportunities. Also works with the Director, Private Equity, the Vice President and Chief Investment Officer, and other investment staff to manage and monitor the Foundation’s investments in hedge funds. Has primary responsibility for the closing process for new investments, which includes working with legal counsel on review of closing documents, preparing investment recommendations, and negotiating investment-related issues with General Partners of the various funds. Also responsible for reviewing offering materials from prospective fund investees, performing portfolio analysis and research, writing and presenting investment recommendations to the Vice President and Chief Investment Officer, establishing and maintaining relationships with private equity and hedge fund staff at other investing institutions and among the investment manager community, and making recommendations regarding the Foundation’s response to requests for amendments, waivers, and modifications of existing investment agreements. Performs due diligence on future fund commitments. Supervises the work of the Investment Analyst and the Senior Private Equity Associate.

Qualifications
MBA and/or CFA and a strong academic record required. Excellent analytical, writing, and presentation skills. Minimum of 7 years’ experience in analyzing and recommending public equity, private equity and/or hedge fund investments. Strong aptitude for understanding of the financial market, business, legal and accounting issues involved in evaluating and investing in private equity and hedge funds. Good computer skills and ability to evaluate existing fund portfolio returns and monitor portfolio investments. Strong people skills in judging capabilities of fund partners and negotiating partnership documents. Team-oriented individual with a collaborative work style and a willingness to perform a wide range of tasks. Excellent supervisory skills. Ability and willingness to undertake extensive domestic and international travel. Preferred Qualifications
Experience analyzing and recommending investments in private equity and hedge funds. Extensive relationships in endowment and foundation private equity and hedge fund investment community. Experience analyzing technology-related companies and managing a portfolio of public technology-related stocks.
