Summary Description
Reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer, the Director of Compensation & Benefits is responsible for the planning, design, administration, compliance and communication of Ford’s benefits and compensation programs, ensuring they meet the needs of a diverse workforce and are locally competitive and cost effective. The Director leads a staff of four professionals.
The ideal candidate must possess deep knowledge and experience in benefits, both healthcare and retirement, complemented by experience in and/or knowledge of compensation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or other related field
- 15 years of progressive experience in benefits, including 5 or more years in a management role
- Experience in or knowledge of compensation
- Exceptional judgment, analytical skills and problem solving ability
- Outstanding interpersonal, collaboration and partnering skills
- Strong oral and written communications skills and ability to relate well to trustees, management, staff, retirees, and outside consultants and vendors
- Ability to lead, manage and develop a high performing, results-oriented team
- Strong interest in Ford’s social justice mission
Preferred Qualifications
- • MBA or other graduate degree.
- • Professional designation such as CBP or CEBS
