Summary Description

Reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer, the Director of Compensation & Benefits is responsible for the planning, design, administration, compliance and communication of Ford’s benefits and compensation programs, ensuring they meet the needs of a diverse workforce and are locally competitive and cost effective. The Director leads a staff of four professionals.

The ideal candidate must possess deep knowledge and experience in benefits, both healthcare and retirement, complemented by experience in and/or knowledge of compensation.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or other related field
  • 15 years of progressive experience in benefits, including 5 or more years in a management role
  • Experience in or knowledge of compensation
  • Exceptional judgment, analytical skills and problem solving ability
  • Outstanding interpersonal, collaboration and partnering skills
  • Strong oral and written communications skills and ability to relate well to trustees, management, staff, retirees, and outside consultants and vendors
  • Ability to lead, manage and develop a high performing, results-oriented team
  • Strong interest in Ford’s social justice mission

Preferred Qualifications

  • • MBA or other graduate degree.
  • • Professional designation such as CBP or CEBS
